Mining Ropes

Built for the extreme demands of surface and underground mining

About Crane Ropes

Mining wire ropes operate in some of the harshest industrial environments on earth — high abrasion, extreme impact loads, continuous duty cycles, and exposure to dust, moisture, and corrosive conditions. WireCo's mining rope portfolio by Union is purpose-built for these demands.

The product range covers hoist ropes for shaft sinking and production hoisting, shovel ropes for electric rope shovels and draglines, and specialty ropes for slope and decline haulage systems. Each construction is optimized for its specific application, balancing fatigue resistance, abrasion life, and breaking strength.

Union mining ropes are manufactured and stocked for the world's major mining regions, with technical support teams experienced in rope selection, installation, and retirement criteria for surface and underground operations.
