In the space of three weeks,two WireCo WorldGroup brands are putting new rope engineering in front of two very different industries. Euronete introduces Lankofix at Nor-Fishing 2026 inTrondheim, and Lankhorst introduces Lankoline 3XR at SMM in Hamburg. One rope is built to work a trawl deck. The other is built to hold a vessel safely against a quay. Different fleets, different loads, different oceans of experience behind them, but the same engineering discipline that runs through every brand under the WireCo umbrella: ropes designed as safety critical equipment, not commodities.
From 18 to 20 August, Euronete will show a sample of Lankofix at Stand Hall D-335. Lankofix is a 12-strand braided rope in high tenacity material, produced in Europe at an ISO certified, DNV-GL approved facility. It is built for fishing operations that need strength, durability and low stretch together, with a floating construction that supports handling both on deck and in the water.
Its specific gravity of 0.93 keeps it buoyant, while resistance to UV exposure, abrasion and chemicalcontact is built for life at sea rather than a test bench. Minimum breaking force runs from 216 kN (22.0 tf) at 18 mm up to 1034 kN (105.4 tf) at 44 mm,determined to ISO 2307, with further diameters available on request.
Euronete has served the global fishing industry for almost 70 years, a history the brand sums up simply as trusted by those feeding the world. Lankofix continues that history as Euronete's latest investment in rope engineering for demanding maritime conditions. Visitors to Nor-Fishing can see and handle the rope at the standand talk directly with Euronete's technical team about diameter, length and application.
From 1 to 4 September,Lankhorst Ropes will build its stand at SMM, stand 108 in Hall A1, around a single theme: mooring safety through innovation. At its centre is Lankoline3XR, the first Lankhorst mooring line with reduced recoil built into the rope itself.
Mooring practice has become safer over the years, but exceptional tidal conditions and sudden vessel movement can still overload a line and put crew at risk. Made of 100% HMPE,Lankoline 3XR keeps the same construction, diameter and everyday performance as a standard Lankoline rope, but its specially designed strength member catches the overloaded part of the rope if the minimum breaking load is reached. That single design change reduces the energy stored in the rope from 100 percent to below 20 percent, giving crew the time and margin to respond and move clear.

Without altering the construction, diameter or everyday performance properties of our Lankoline rope, our engineers have been able to drastically improve the safety of crews,”says Marcel van der Molen, Sales Director, Lankhorst.
Christophe Limouzin, Product Area Manager Europe, will present Lankoline 3XR on the Exhibitor Innovation Stage in Hall B5 on Wednesday 2 September, 16:15 to 16:25. Lankoforce and Lankonect, two of Lankhorst's other recent mooring and towage solutions, will also feature on the stand, alongside a product history that runs back more than 220 years.
Fishing rope and mooring line answer to different regulations, different sea states and different customers. What Lankofix and Lankoline 3XR share is the reasoning behind them: WireCo brands develop rope as an operational investment, engineered to reduced owntime, protect crews and hold up under conditions that do not forgive a weak product. Two brands, two fairs, one season, one standard.
